The Tesco Christmas aisle has been stocked for weeks, Mr. Claus is preparing to set up his grotto in shopping centres across the nation, and there’s less than 50 shopping days left - Christmas 2011 is almost here!
And here at Spinetinglers Christmas means one thing –
The Christmas Ghost Story Competition – which is now open!
We had a great response last year and lots of festively fabulous entries, so we can’t wait to see what this year brings. We just have a couple of rules we ask you to try and stick to -
- Christmas must be a central theme - you can't just mention that someone was wandering down Oxford Street in the glow of the Christmas lights.
- Macabre & Morose? Funny & Uplifting, Ghosts & Ghouls, Possessions & Poltergeists the choice is yours but it must have some link to the "otherworldly" or at least a passing nod to the "Supernatural"
- A maximum word count of 5,000 (but as it’s Christmas we will let you away with hitting 5,500.
Apart from that you can let your imagination run wild!
You can submit your stories through the site as normal; just make sure you put ‘Christmas Ghost Story Competition’ in the title box. Or you can email them directly to me –
lauren@spinetinglers.co.uk – again if you could put ‘Christmas Ghost Story Competition’ as the subject heading of your email, that way I can ensure it ends up in the hands of the right people!

midnight on December 16th.As always, 1st Place wins £100.00 plus a certificate and guaranteed inclusion in a future
Spinetinglers Anthology, 2nd Place wins £50.00, 3rd, 4th and 5th each win £25.00. All prize money is in British Pounds (stg) or your local currency equivalent.
