Just spoken to Patrick Feenan, who as you will all no doubt remember, won the first Spinetinglers Elite competition.  His book still hasn't been published unfortunately and he's naturally very despondent about this.  The guy's shelled out a fair bit of money on the project too, which is of course an added worry, but he's more worried about letting people down.  He did receive 3 e mails from Jodi on the 17th September, which is more than any of us have managed, but he hasn't heard since, so whether poor old Jodi's been taken ill again since then I don't know.  I think Patrick's going to try the more direct approach with contacting them sometime this week, so the mystery of what's going on at Spiney continues.

Anyway, Patrick sends his regards to everyone at Spiney who he's spoken to and I don't think I'd be out of order in sending Patrick everyone's best wishes for a successful outcome to his book saga.

Hang in there Patrick, we're all routing for you.

Poor Patrick, I know when all these problems with Spiney started he was the first person I thought of. He had been through so much angst with his book already I feared that it would only create more problems for him.
In my opinion if Jodi can send emails she should at least just have posted something on the forum to let us all know what was happening.
Herb, your situation is just as bad and you must be absolutely gutted.
All it takes is a short message to let people know where they stand.
I never received a reply from Jodi re. my email I sent four months ago now, although she appears to have been well enough to produce a couple of ezines since. It is a serious matter, breach of copywrite, when you submit stories to a site for a competition you expect them to be treated as confidential unless you are a winner of the contest, and my stories are still on the web for all to see. I would have thought it would have been good manners to at least reply.
I am sorry that this sounds pretty angry, but I am, not for myself but for other peoples lives that are being messed around!

I feel for Patrick. I can only imagine how worried he's been. Getting published is hard enough as it is. Please if you speak to him again Jeff, send him my regards and I hope that there is a successful outcome to all of this, I really do, not just regards the money but as he said the people waiting for the book.

Whitehorses,I understand where you're coming from and your anger. Ive sent Jodi an email too to ask how she is etc and have no reply as yet although that was only a few days ago so maybe she will get back to me. If she is ill then I would hope that she could ask someone else to just post a notice or send out some emails just to reassure people but maybe thats not an option either, I dont know but I sure hope theres something soon.

I'm here folks!
I received an email ten minutes ago from the site telling me what my new password was but it was probably sent automatically. I was reading all your emails here all week and I couldn't clock in to tell you want was going on. Nothing really as I told Jeff in my email to him, but I still live in hope. I don't think any publisher would be as callous as to dash people's hopes anywhere, especially when contracts were signed and I signed two.

As you are all probably aware, things don't just fold without a reason and I'm hoping there's no reason. All - in - all, it would be the shame and none - credibility of the whole thing if it didn't work out, and I have an eleven - year - old grandson who writes ghost stories and I told him and Jodi that one of his stories will be included in my next manuscript, which is alrewad written and prepared. The kid suffers from  Asberger's disease. a form of Autism, and I would hate to let him down for that just alone and coundn't forgive myself if it weren't published, although his face lit up when I told him it was to be included after this manuscript is published and it cheered him up no end. But God is good, I know that much, and we will have to see how this all pans out, cheers folks, Patrick. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Hi Patrick! Good to see you back here. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that it all works out. I am still confident that it will be ok. Spiney has been pretty good up until recently and I just hope its a blip and nothing more, and even though you must realise that it wouldnt be your fault and that no shame would be on you if it doesnt happen, I know thats cold comfort at the end of the day. I sincerely hope that your grandson gets his wish to have his story published. What an honour that will be for him.

Keep us posted if you can and heres hoping luck is on your shoulder.  Cheesy

Thank you Princessdreamer!
yeah, he's a good kid, and you are probably aware that people especially kids, who have Asberger's are very intelligent and he's written over fifty ghost stories. This little guy has sat at his own computer for the last four years, as he like others with that can't tolerate loud noises or crowds. And he great at it, far better than me or anybody I know!

I just don't know what's going on, although Jodi kindly sent me three photos last week for possible inclusion on the book, the front and back cover, and she also got me to write a short, explainatory addition for the back of the book and a longer one for the inside pages, for book - purchasers and wholesalers so it's not unreasonable to expect the best scenario, and even two doctors, a consultant and a surgon, who did their job on me A FEW YEARS BACK, are waiting for a COPY each. Hope I can accomodate them and the other nineteen! Cheers, Patrick. Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Really hope your book gets published, Patrick. I'd be pee'd if I had a story accepted then it didn't get published, never mind a book.
