I've not checked back through all the posts but a friend of mine is going mad for a US TV show called Dexter.  It's apparently about a moral serial killer.  I don't think it has the fantasy element of much of the aforementioned shows but it sounds worth checking out.  Poor me on dial up will have to hope BBC2 splash out a few million for it like they did with Heroes.

Hey, I'm a star! Well, four actually.

I've seen clips for Dexter. Have to say not keen. Looks dark comedy which I usually like, but the whole 'moral serial killer' thing gets to me.

I heard that in the first episode he kills a child-killer and says something like 'I don't kill children, I have standards'.

No you don't. What you have are writers too gutless to portray all the horror of a coldblooded killer.
If you want to do a true villian, you do the lot. Otherwise don't.

Got a bit angry there. Still might be a good show though. Love Heroes.

Heroes is the best thing on telly at the moment! Supernatural comes a close second. Another programme to watch out for at the moment is, 'Blood Ties', about a private investigator who teams up with a vampire. Starts on Thursday on Living TV.

I love Heroes. Mind you, anything that had Hiro and Ando in would get me.

Like Supernatural a lot. Thought it pretty boys and ghosts at first, but grown to a lot more.
the two characters are quite good, although I wasn't as wowed by the last episode of the second series as I was of the first.

Still, glad it's still going. Being a scifi/horror/fantasy fan in TV land is a nervous business, you neevr know which is going for the chop next.

That's true and saying that, I hope that Sam isn't really dead in the last episode. I guess not if there's going to be a third series. I see that Ghost whisperer is back too for another series. Something else to look forward to. Hey, maybe we should all get together and write a spooky supernatural series. With all our, ahem, talent, I'm sure we could come up with something to rival what's on the telly these days. Wink

Oh bummer, hope I didn't just spoli it for you. To be honest, I've recorded it but haven't watched it yet but someone who did watch it told me Sam dies in the last episode. If there's another series though then he must come back or maybe he's just badly injured. Sorry!

We're talking second series right?

I've seen that one, it was on ITV2 earlier. I think you've been played with. I won't say for certain though, leave you on the edge of your seat.

Got to go and watch it in a minute then to find out now! This is the same series where their father dies in the beginning isn't it? Hope I didn't dream it or something. It wouldn't be the first time!

That's the one.

I think I know where the confusion is, but I won't say, let you have the joy of watching it again.

If you do find yourself confused, ask here and maybe I can enlighten you.

Ok, will do. Thats what i get for listening to other people and not watching it for myself. I've got about four episodes taped to be watched along with the last episode of Lost and the last episode of Heroes. Will watch them tonight.

Last episode of Heroes!

You mean the latest or the actual last one?

I started watching it on the SCiFi channel, but missed some early bits so decided to leave it and get the boxset.
THen I found out the boxset isn't coming out til December, so now I'm watching it on BBC2.

Whatever you do, tell me nothing about Heroes. I've seen several episodes ahead, but after that I've kept it all out.

If you let one thing slip, getting tied up will be the least of your problems. You live in Cornwall I think. Well I'm in the West Country, and one spoiler and I'll run all the way down there screaming. Ask Janrae, she knows I'm nuts enough to do it.

He he, my lips are sealed I promise. Yes, its the last episode. I've been watching it again on BBc2 as well. I won't say a word ok. Yes, I live in Cornwall. Which part of the West Country to you live in?

Wiltshire, north west of. Near Bath. Small town called Corsham.

Seriously, don't even toy with me. It's so rare to be watching an American programme and not have picked up the future storylines- had a real problem there when watching Buffy, often knew a series climax before we were getting to it.

By the way, to answer here because, why not? The Flight of Dragons is an old cartoon movie about the world of magic fading and four wizards setting up a secret domain to save themsleves, only one refuses and declares war on mankind.

James Earl Jones does the bad guy's voice, very well as usual, and others I know but can't remember their names are in too.
Quite liked it because they explained things like dragon flight in a scientific way, if made up.

Two other great moments in there that get me, but I'll save them. You see, I don't let things slip.

Well, I'll be mute ok I promise. You're right, it is unusual not to have future storylines over here. I used to watch Buffy and Angel and had the same problem. By the way, James Marsters, who as you know plays Spike, is to star in an episode of Doc Who sometimes, as a baddie of course. Thats something to watch out for. I love that guy and loved Spike. How cool was he? A flawed vamp. A great character.
