What does that mean? It's Japanese for monsters, got it from Hellsing OVA.
In a way we are the monsters, in another they are the problems we face as writers. Mainly though, I just wanted to use the word. Love it.
I'm starting this because this website is getting so thready it looks like that giant web in Krull, and that was a bad place. I'm also doing it because I'm talking to two publically and privately, and often there is little difference in content. I see no reason to hide anything from each other as we're all talking to each other.
True, some things need to be private, such as Janrae's sexual and abusive messages she peppers me with, but otherwise I feel we should talk together. No need to leave each other out- I know Janrae loves seeing me and Matt spar.
Also, we can just talk stuff here, rather than ruin other threads (oh the carnage we have wrought!)
Also, again, I think it would be polite to say goodbye here. Matt is very good at this, Janrae just comes and goes like the wind, and I get distracted, although I'm often last to leave so I ought to remember to turn the lights off.
It might also be helpful to say when we intend to come on. That way we can forget about coming here (I drive myself nuts thinking: I wonder if they're on, should I check?) and get on with our normal lives, or we can come here on our own and just rant. That's fun. Look at me, I have the whole website to myself, weeeeee!!!!

You are a very bad boy.
It would be cool to establish a time to be here. I come by when I finish a scene to my satisfaction as a break to get my head ready for the next one. When it cools off here, as it is supposed to, I'll be frequenting my chatroom at sff.net more often. I'm five hours earlier than England, being on the eastern coast of US. There is a direct link to it on my LJ. It's just been too blasted hot the past few days for me to feel like chatting there.

You're not five hours earlier, you're behind! You've done it again.
personally I'm glad you're here.
I'll send you that elf/horror soon, I need to put a bit in first. No rush to read it though. Need to know about your story, time and all that.
Oh, you left your address on the story, and maybe your telephone number. Are you trying to tell me something? Ms Frank, are you trying to seduce me? Too late.
Thanks for the offer but I'll get killed by the bills. #laughing away#

Matt (and Janrae too if she likes)
Just to say I'm going to send you a story soon. I'm thinking of sending it to Spinets, but I'm unsure if it's too scifi. See what you say. (You might say it's no good)
The story I'm typing up is one I'd like to send you too, but it may take time, depending on how much I spend here. The interesting thing is I started before talking to you, and finished after, and was much more aware of what I wrote. That's you that is. Thanks. (genuine)
Also, on gatewaymonthly.com, go on archives, then short stories, and you'll see several under my name.
The Cull is one I'm proud of, if reflecting my more harsh views of humanity. (Just look at the title!)
Teddy and Dolly i've mentioned. (Love mr Bun-Bun still)
Dining In with Uninvited Guests is my silly vampire story, yet others seem to like it. It was my first at humour, I think that's why it gets by. I think you should try horror/humour. Your metaphors do make me think of Blackadder (I can imagine you saying I have a plan so cunning you could put a tail on and call it a weasel).
There is another story I'll point out to you another time, don't want to overload you. I don't think you'll like it but that's why. Personally, I think some Metaphor Magic would improve it greatly.
You both asked, I let you have it with both barrels. I also have a machinegun, and a grenade to take us all out.
If you want to throw stuff at me feel free. I'll look at it as long as there's a bit of time to do so. I'll also give it my best.
One last thing. I want to say I hold back on you both. Yes, that's how much I like you. I'm much harsher on myself, and could be harsher I feel. I'm just surprised I don't flog myself while I edit. I also don't believe for one moment I'm right in everything I say, and your response to my review made me think as well. Argh, brain hurt, think too much!

You submit? Never!
You had lost me for a moment, I thought 5 what and 10 where, but now I see. Yes, that's right, and I see why you said you're earlier. You're still wrong though. #chortle#

Yes, but it's fun and you just made me forget what I was going to say. Oh, now I remember. I may have sold Whorehouse Devil. I just got an email from an editor who is doing an anthology and he says he loves it. Even though it's sword and sorcery, it reads like a Western and he likes that aspect.

Do you want me to still read it then? Or, I could read it but not comment.
Also, that sounds good.

Either way is fine with me. I'm working on another story about Cullen Blackwood right now. It's titled "The Wolf in Moon's Clothing."

Tell you what, I'll read it and if I see anything major I'll let you know. I won't nit-pick.
Can I hear laughter from across the ocean?
Right. I'm off. Only meant to come on and do a bit, thought I was alone, and then Jarnae saunters in and entrances me with her womanly ways.
I'll come back later. See if I can catch that will-o-the-wisp wordsmith as well. (that's you Matt)

HOw else could you mean it?
The way Janrae talks to me sometimes, I'd say she's six veils short.
Hope you've read your email, Matt, but just to repeat: love that metaphor, Jethro Tull hooray, Cream and Hendrix useful and thanks on hyphens. Usually I don't like them, remember talking to Janrae about them early on, but seemed to have splurged there.
Not sure when I'll be on Monday, perhaps late afternoon. Try to.

I've been busy making people unhappy with me. I had promised a bunch of people that I would jump directly back to the next book in the Dark Brothers series, but could not quite pull myself away from my lycans and went directly to the next book in that series that I have in rough draft. I think I'm going to have to avoid talking about writing on my blogs for a while. Otherwise I might get into trouble if I inadvertantly let it escape that I'm not working on the book that I'm supposed to be working on.
