Spiney is Back!

01 December 2008

Spinetinglers is Back!

Plus excellent Competitions to Celebrate!

Well I think we've all waited long enough and the drought is now officially over!

We will have a few teething problems to start with but these will be quickly sorted out. The important thing to us was to get the site and the competitions back up and running and this is what is happening now! Yes Now!

I'm sure that some (or maybe all) of you were beginning to think that Spiney was going to drift quietly off into the night never to be seen again - this for us was never an option although I fully understand how any of you may have started to believe this.

Our job now is to make Spiney bigger and better than ever!

As you all know we've started working on this already we have made some announcements concerning our monthly competitions and just in case you missed them I'll reiterate them now.

Entry fee to the competition is Scrapped!

Yes guys you read correctly - there is no longer an entry fee to the monthly competition.

First place will now receive £100.00!

Automatic inclusion in the Spinetinglers Anthology
&
Last but not least the Spinetinglers Certificate!

Second Place will now receive £50.00!

Third, Fourth and Fifth Place will now receive £25.00!

The competition will still be monthly the 15th of one month to the 15th of the next, so the rolling deadline still exists, basically the only thing which has changed is that you guys don't have to pay an entry fee and stand to win much more!

Now I think we need to move on to;

The Relaunch Competitions!

When the site was almost ready for it's relaunch the totally amazing Rachael over at Hyperlaunch came up with two absolutely phenomenal competitions to help us celebrate.  I know the entry to these competitions is going to be huge so loads of luck everyone and an absolutely huge thank you to Rachael for providing us with these.

The release of Tales from the Perilous Realm celebrates the re-launch of another website - the Tolkien Website. The Tolkien Website will be shipping books worldwide when it reopens at the beginning of December!

The Tolkien Website will be holding it's own draw when it re-launches for one copy of the Limited edition Children of Hurin books, signed by both Christoper Tolkien and Alan Lee!

Yes your eyes do not deceive you - thanks again to the amazing Rachael at Hyperlaunch and Warner Bros we have a Body of Lies Goody Bag to give away to one very lucky member! The Goody Bag contains;

One Body of Lies Adult Gray Long Sleeve T Shirt

One Body of Lies Field Messenger Bag and

One Body of Lies Field Watch!

I'm sure you'll all agree that this is an amazing prize! So another huge thank you to Rachael!  To get your hands on this goody bag all you have to do is answer another really easy question and as usual send your answers to me (Jodi) at spinetinglers@btinternet.com with Body of Lies Competition in the subject heading of your email.

Body of Lies is the dark and controversial new spy thriller which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe.  The film has been receiving quite a lot of attention not least for it's controversial plot and the pairing of DiCaprio and Crowe.  (Two actors that in my humble opinion are always worth watching!)

Body of Lies Synopsis

Roger Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio) is the best man US Intelligence has on the ground, in places where human life is worth no more than the information it can get you.  In operations that take him around the globe from the Middle East to Washington, Ferris’s next breath often depends on the voice at the other end of a secure phone line – CIA veteran Ed Hoffman (Russell Crowe).

Waging war from a laptop in the suburbs, Hoffman is on the trail of an emerging terrorist leader who has orchestrated a campaign of bombings while eluding the most sophisticated intelligence network in the world. To lure the terrorist out into the open, Ferris will have to penetrate his murky world, but the closer he gets to the target, the more he discovers that trust is both a dangerous commodity and the only one that will get him out alive.

Now for our ultra easy question - this is so easy it's almost embarrassing! (I'm being very nice with the questions because it's our relaunch don't expect the competition questions to remain this easy!)

Who Directed Body of Lies?

Send your answers as usual to me at spintinglers@btinternet.com and don't forget to put Body of Lies Competition in the subject heading.

Loads of luck everyone!

And now as if this wasn't enough excitement for one ezine another announcement to make!
