The Dark Hoard Competition

29 May 2008

We were recently contacted by Nick Button who is attempting to publish an anthology of Macabre Short Stories and is actively seeking contributions in the form of stories and illustrations. I've listed this as a competition because Nick appears to be looking for around 18 Short Stories and as I'm quite sure he will receive much more than eighten submissions anyone who submits a story is competing for inclusion in Dark Hoard.

At the moment Nick envisages this to be a one time deal but if it's successful you never know what may happen. Fingers crossed for both Nick and Dark Hoard.

As I knew this is the sort of thing all of you are interested in - either submitting to or simply reading the finished product, I asked Nick for some information concerning the competition and you'll find that below.

I would suggest that anyone thinking of submitting reads the Terms and Conditions as well as the FAQ's which is why I've put links through to these pages. Nick has managed to give a fairly comprehensive over-view of the thoughts behind this project as well as how he plans to deal with contributors so these pages are well worth reading.

All that's left now for me to do is wish Nick and Dark Hoard every success.

Dark Hoard A New Opportunity for Writers and anyone who loves Dark Fiction

Dark Hoard is a working title for a new creative writing project which is currently being developed. It will be a collection of macabre, thought-provoking stories which is to be illustrated throughout by talented artists.

We are looking for authors, of any age, published or unpublished, to submit existing work - or write something especially for the book.

All submissions will be considered! This is to be a collaboration of enthusiastic individuals, where they can express their creativity and see their name in print.

Benefits of joining the Dark Hoard:

• Submit several pieces or walk away - you have no commitment.
• Get your work in print
• Get your name in the book. The book will feature profiles of the authors.
• Gain the chance that your work to be taken up by a publisher

If you want to know more or get in touch, please visit the website: Nick Button Dark Hoard for information, news, or to get in touch.

If you are interested in reading the book when it is published, you can also subscribe on the website – to be kept up-to-date with the project’s progress.
